If that installation is 'broken' in any way, we should rebuild it anyway imho - what do you think @boegel ? (I cannot really judge how 'broken' that installation is) If you're interested in Siesta 5.4.2, we can of course also add that - but then I would suggest adding it to Edit: I see there we have |
|
There is no a particular reason, since siesta 5.2.2 exists in eessi 2023.06 (rebuild need it), maybe it's a good option to include the latest release into this version of eessi. Siesta 5.4.2 is included in eessi 2025.06... |

Ok, we discussed this in our support meeting. We see no strong reasons against (also) having it in bot: build repo:eessi.io-2023.06-software instance:eessi-bot-mc-aws for:arch=x86_64/amd/zen2 |

My bad, I should have looked at this more carefully. This I'll fix it myself, hope you don't mind. That way I can at least start another build :) |

I'll just give this another try, see if the hang was a hickup... bot: build repo:eessi.io-2023.06-software instance:eessi-bot-deucalion for:arch=aarch64/a64fx |

It seems like the build hangs on A64FX in one of the tests: With a newer toolchain, this build succeeded without issues #1534 (comment) . I don't think it's worth spending too much time into actually debugging this. In my view, we have two options:
I'll discuss with the rest of the support team what they think... |
Perfect, I'll wait the answer from the support team! Thank you. |
|
Ok, we discussed. It might be caused by the same issue as #1535 (comment) (i.e. a too low stack limit). That system is unavailable now, but we'll check later. We did agree that if we cannot resolve this easily, I'll close this PR, and the suggestion will just be to use Siesta 5.4.2 from EESSI 2025.06. |
|
A64FX bot has been updated to set ulimit -s unlimited. Let's see if this by any chance fixed the issue bot: build repo:eessi.io-2023.06-software instance:eessi-bot-deucalion for:arch=aarch64/a64fx |

@casparvl I don't agree, that agreement was on the PR to rebuild Siesta 5.2.2 (see #1535)... There is a problem for the current installation of Siesta 5.4.2 though, because the commit for Hence, we really should try to complete and deploy this rebuild... |
OK, and I actually was confused myself... :D The existing installation of Siesta 5.4.2 that really needed a rebuild wass the one with |
Adding Siesta 5.4.2 to EESSI 2023.06.
If this is ok, can we include the latest version of Siesta 5.4.2 instead of rebuild Siesta 5.2.2? #1535
